This blog will be about my faith in Jesus Christ, both from a practical and spiritual viewpoint.

I'll look at Bible verses, interpretations that I believe are correct, and how they affect my spiritual journey.  A word of caution and advice for you is to do as the Bereans did in Acts 17:11 and test everything I say for yourself.

Jesus on What Type of Cloud

The Ascension of Jesus happened 40 days after his death.

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”


Have you ever wondered what type of cloud was part of this experience?  Was it a cumulus cloud, a stratus cloud, or a Nimbostratus cloud, a cirrus cloud, an anvil cloud, or something else?

I suggest that it was the Holy Spirit in the form of the same type of cloud that Israel had in the desert for 40 years, Numbers 9:15-23.  I believe this because Jesus needed to leave so the Holy Spirit could begin his special ministry to followers of Jesus.

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

He will come again in glory riding on the Holy Spirit to defeat the evil that prevails in this world.

Again, I suggest you employ Acts 17:11 to make up your mind.

Good Friday or Good Wednesday

This is not an attack on tradition, but a look at Biblical truth.

I believe that Jesus was hung on the cross on Wednesday. I base this information on the teaching of Chuck Missler, plus others; I've looked at the teaching, and from a Biblical perspective it's hard to refute. Here's an article from the Blue Letter Bible that also explains the dilemma.
