The most basic point of comparison is the math. In Matthew 12:40, Jesus is quoted as saying, "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." It's very difficult to get three days and three nights with a Friday cruxification. The best argument for a Friday cruxification is that Jesus didn't mean three full days or nights. I believe that Jesus (and the Bible in general) is very specific with the words used.
Wednesday makes more sense from the math perspective. See the picture below. Remembering that the Jewish day starts at sundown the Wednesday cruxification makes much more sense. The above-mentioned article in the Blue Letter Bible also talks about other very convincing facts like Jesus and the Jericho journey (John 12:1) and the Sabbaths, there were two between Wednesday and Sunday.
The important thing here is not to argue but to celebrate the Empty Tomb.
